- INTRODUCTION -
For my Graphic Illustration class in my first semester of RMIT Diploma of Graphic Design,
I choose to digitally recreate a Pentax camera.
This was an extremely lengthy project, but has been one of the most rewarding projects for me during my time at RMIT. It tested my Illustrator skills and workflow systems immensely, and allowed me to significantly upskill in digital illustration.
The first line drawing required mastering the Pen Tool and learning tips and tricks to save time and develop a smarter workflow. I’m really proud of the outcome that I’ve achieved here!
The colour icon drawing required really thinking about light and shadow
to ensure I was getting the mid-tones, highlights and shadows in the correct place
to enhance the illustration’s believability.
The final outcome and the first photo-realistic render that I’ve ever done!
I got to learn the ins and outs of the Gradient Tool
as well as how to import Textures into an illustration.
Plenty of room for improvement, but very proud of my first attempt!
